FBR Extends Sales Tax Return and Federal Excise Return Filing Date

issued circular C. No. 9(11) ST-LPE/Misc/2016/153517-R dated July 15, 2022
regarding Sales Tax return and Federal Excise return for the tax period of June
2022. FBR said that in exercise of the powers conferred under section 74 of the
Sales Tax Act, 1990 and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, the FBR is please to
extend the date of payment and submission of Sales Tax return and Federal
Excise return for the tax period of June 2022 for all taxpayers upto
20.07.2022.
Normally
Sales Tax return and Federal Excise return date of payment is 15th
and date of submission is 18 of every month.
The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) requested to
FBR to extend the date of filing the quarterly income tax withholding statement
and monthly sales tax return for the tax period of June 2022 till July 31, 2022
in order to enable the taxpayers to complete the work and to facilitate them to
make compliance.
