Revolutionizing Tax Returns:
FBR Unveils IRIS 2.0 for Effortless Filing
The Federal Board of
Revenue (FBR) has taken a significant step forward in tax administration by
introducing IRIS 2.0, an upgraded version of the tax return filing system. The
new system was unveiled by FBR Chairman Asim Ahmad at the FBR Headquarters,
developed by Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL).
Prominent figures
from the FBR Chairman Asim Ahmad, including Member IR Operations, Member IT,
CEO PRAL, and Chiefs/Secretaries of IR & IT wings, attended the launch event.
IRIS 2.0 brings several improvements aimed at enhancing user experience,
increasing efficiency, and reducing costs for the FBR.
Previous versions of
the tax filing system, namely IRIS 1.0 and IRIS 1.1, were instrumental in
transforming tax return procedures. However, they faced challenges that
affected performance and user satisfaction, especially during peak loads, and
required expensive hardware to meet processing demands.
With IRIS 2.0, the
FBR has tackled these challenges head-on and undergone a major transformation. The
focus has been on strengthening the backend and designing an intuitive frontend
to ensure a seamless experience for users and the FBR.
This significant
upgrade was made possible due to the leadership and direction of Chairman FBR,
Member IR Operations, and Member IT. Their efforts included technological
transformations, updating PRAL culture, and optimizing PRAL teams.
By adopting IRIS 2.0,
the FBR aims to elevate its tax filing operations, achieving greater efficiency
while significantly reducing hardware expenditures. The improved user
experience is expected to enhance overall user satisfaction, making IRIS 2.0 a
valuable asset for the FBR.
The launch of IRIS
2.0 aligns with Chairman FBR Asim Ahmad's vision of a modern, technology-driven,
and efficient organization dedicated to serving the nation at its best.
It demonstrates the
FBR and PRAL's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for improved
service delivery and greater efficiency in tax administration.
Taxpayers and
stakeholders can anticipate a more seamless and user-friendly experience as the
upgraded system sets a new benchmark for tax return filing in the country. IRIS
2.0 represents a significant stride towards the FBR's mission of promoting
transparency, compliance, and financial accountability in Pakistan's revenue
collection system.
